Ok, so if I had an answer to THAT question, how to stop the degradation of academic debate without being branded phobic or racist or both, I'd go get some sweet academic consulting gig for a few hundred thousand. Yeah, that wouldn't be a blog post.

You should have seen the fallout when I assigned Zimbardo's The Lucifer Effect. OH MY GOD. How could I expose the students to Abu Ghraib? I got a ton of flack.

I invited a Satanist to come to campus once for a lecture. OH MY GOD. That was a little adventure.

Love your syllabus BTW. I've taught some of those as well. How could I not teach Machiavelli and Sun Tzu? I would totally teach Jordan Peterson too, though I find that some his claims don't stand up to rigorous inquiry. (Nobody's perfect.)
