Yes indeed. This was a rant, not an argument. The vagueness was intentional - it was meant to be a bit of handwaving. It was supposed to be emotional - I was crying. . .

But I'm loving your comment. These are absolutely the right questions. If I ever come upon an actual position that I need to argue for, I'd hope to be rigorous.
