Yes, this feels like part of the solution. There have to be consequences. We need to act to create a society in which the wealthy, famous, and powerful do see consequences. No one should be able to shoot someone on 5th Avenue and get away with it.

I've been puzzling over the problems that come from misinformation about the pandemic. I am concerned that Tucker Carlson could be significantly contributing to the death of children by saying that masks are child abuse. But there's no obvious, direct, clearly enforceable, legal connection between what Tucker said one night on his entertainment show, and someone's kid contracting a deadly virus. Or, maybe I should say that I would not know how to prove in court that this kind of misinformation is a clear and present danger.
